Overview
BitMart is a global cryptocurrency exchange that offers trading, staking, and DeFi access. This page explains how to sign in to your BitMart account from Canada, how to enable and manage two-factor authentication (2FA), and how to resolve common login issues or recover access if you’re locked out.
Before you begin
- Make sure you have a verified BitMart account. If not, register at the official site: bitmart.com.
- Keep your email address and password handy and ensure your device clock is accurate (important for 2FA apps).
- Prefer using Canada’s secure and private network — avoid public Wi-Fi when signing in to financial services.
How to sign in — Desktop
- Open your browser and go to https://www.bitmart.com.
- Click Log In at the top-right corner.
- Enter your registered email and password, then click Sign In.
- If 2FA is enabled, enter the code from your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) or SMS code if you use SMS verification.
How to sign in — Mobile app
- Open the BitMart app (download from official stores if required).
- Tap Log In, enter your email and password.
- Complete 2FA if prompted. If you prefer, you can enable fingerprint/face unlock in-app for quicker re-entry.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
2FA greatly improves account security. We recommend using an authenticator app instead of SMS where possible.
- To enable 2FA: Sign into BitMart > Security Settings > bind Google Authenticator (scan QR code) > save your backup codes.
- Store backup/seed codes in a safe, offline place — these let you recover 2FA if you lose your device.
Troubleshooting common login issues
Problem: “Login not working” or “Incorrect password.”
- Double-check your email address and password (caps lock, extra spaces).
- Try a password reset via Forgot password? on the login page. Follow the email link and set a new password.
- If your 2FA code is showing as invalid, confirm your device time is synced (use network-provided time).
Account recovery — if you’re locked out
- Use the Forgot password? flow on BitMart to reset via your registered email.
- If you’ve lost access to 2FA and have no backup codes, follow BitMart’s account recovery process (support ticket). Be prepared to provide identity verification documents per BitMart policy.
- For urgent problems, open a support ticket through the BitMart Help Centre on the official site. Never share private keys or full passwords in support tickets.
Security tips for Canadian users
- Enable 2FA and keep backup codes offline.
- Use a unique, strong password (consider a reputable password manager).
- Watch for phishing emails — BitMart will never ask for your password in plain text via email.
- Consider withdrawing large holdings to a personal hardware wallet for long-term storage.
